Brookwood Community Farms programs are inspired by our mission to strengthen the local food system through, sustainable farming, education and promotion of food access. Our programs reflect our unique geographic location on a historic dairy farm under 5 miles from Boston. We seek to provide opportunities for all community members, regardless of age, background or experience to engage with local agriculture. To this end, we operate the following programs:
This program serves over 200 individuals and families who come to the farm each week for a box of freshly harvested produce. Members are encouraged to participate in community work days, pot lucks and other events at the farm. Read more about Community Supported Agriculture and fine out how to become a member.
Our education programs include paid summer internship for area high-school students, an apprenticeship program to train the next generation of organic farmers, a series of educational workshops for adults, and opportunities for area school, camp and community groups to visit the farm and participate in farm volunteer days. Our food access programs strive to establish innovative, affordable food distribution programs in Boston and include the donation of at least 10% of all produce harvested to area food banks. Read more about our food access programs.
